Hi! My name is Cristina Underwood. I’m an internationally published makeup artist & Esthetician born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. My passion for makeup artistry didn’t begin as a young girl like most would think, but I did have a real love for painting and coloring. Unlike most girly-girls I was known to be a “Tom Boy” and loved skateboarding and all sports!
In college I studied Art History and only by accident stumbled upon the cosmetics industry. I became obsessed with all things beauty and quickly started showcasing my artistic talents on my friends and family for special events such as proms, birthdays and weddings. I broadened my makeup skills and learned the art of media makeup and special effects by attending the Academy of Makeup and Fashion. A few years later I became a licensed Esthetician and opened up Cristina Underwood Beauty Studio.
I’ve done makeup for celebrities such as Barbara Alyn Woods and Alyvia Alyn Lind for The Teen Choice Awards, Yesi Oritz from Power 106 and Mike Catherwood on set for “The Collective- Powered by Vevo”, and music artist SARATI. My resume also includes short films, music videos, and working with many of LA’s leading photographers, models, and stylists. My editorial work has appeared in several magazines including Vogue Italia and the UK’s Wedding Magazine.
I love working with Bride’s and I have been blessed to have had my work featured in some of the nation’s leading Wedding blogs such as The Knot, Wedding Wire, Green Wedding Shoes, and Fly away Bride. I have a passion for teaching others how to do their own makeup and sharing all the tips and tricks I’ve learned over the years.
Above all, my most important job in this world is being a full time wife and mama bear. I’m married to my college sweetheart and we have two growing boys and two fur babies. Side note- Don’t let that Seattle Seahawks hat my son is wearing fool you. I’m Raidernation 4 Life and he is a traitor! 😄
